Mitchell wrote about the incident in her book Chicken Soup for the Preteen Soul and in the 7th Heaven episode Nothing Endures But Change. Mitchell's close friend Angela lost her life in a tragic car accident when she was only fifteen years old. Mitchell wrote Angela, the first song on her album, in memory of Angela. In the 7th Heaven Episode Nothing Endures But Change and in Chicken Soup for Preteen Soul she also talked about her experience.
